Nature of Work: The Lead Technician will work on various engineering projects including assisting in all areas of technical support, design, maintenance, and operations of SkyCam systems both in house and in the field. Examples of work performed: Works in the SkyCam Shop under direction of the CTO to test, prepare, repair, maintain, kit, and deploy SkyCam systems. Extensive electronics, electrical, and computer knowledge to troubleshoot failure and repairs across complex systems. Ability to isolate, identify, repair, and certify failures at the board level. Works under the direction of the CTO regarding the deployment of the system and the maintenance and repair of the systems. Interfaces with CTO on matters of engineering and shop operations as they directly pertain to field operations and safety. Supports operations in the shop and reports to the Fort Worth facility. Typical tasks may include general maintenance, testing, and system prep. Other duties might include R&D, design, etc. as assigned. Capable of in the shop/field repairs and directing other crew members with the setup and operation of the equipment. Familiar with the operation of all necessary tools and the various pieces and parts to assemble and rig the system. At times, acts as on-site leader for equipment and crew at an event, and a point of contact for other crews/EICs in the field. Interfaces directly with the client, venue operator, or other crew leaders to ensure safe and proper installation. Provides guidance to and mentoring of SkyCam crew. Trains EICs, E2s, Riggers, Pilots and Operators both on job sites and at the Fort Worth facility. On call for field trouble issues, coordinating with the CTO as required. While on client job sites, responsibilities include, but not limited to: Report and directly communicate all equipment issues and recommendations to the CTO. Participates in various meetings as required, such as staff, operational and organizational meetings. Other duties as requested/required. Working Conditions & Physical Demands: The noise in the work environment is usually moderate or can be loud at times. Potential 25% domestic and international travel; must possess or able to obtain US Passport. Work in extremely high stress environment, fast-paced with multi-level distractions. Ability to work extended hours; nights, weekends, and holidays as required. Valid Driver's License as required. Lift up to 25 lbs. up to 1/3 of time. Qualifications: Minimum High School Diploma Requires a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience, preferably in media, broadcasting, production industry Proficient in the use of MS Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook. Preferred Bachelor's degree preferred (AS or Technical School acceptable). Competencies/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Ability to manage through complex situations in a professional manner. Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills with a strong work ethic. Skilled in the use of computer networks, serial communications, and RF Electrically and mechanically inclined, proficient with hand tools and electrical test equipment. Strong attention to detail. Possesses good analytical and creative skills. Strong communications skills and eagerness to collaborate with a variety of individuals. Comfort with working in a rapidly changing environment and open to innovative ideas. Ability to work extended hours, nights, weekends, and Holidays is a must Extensive domestic and international travel; must possess or able to obtain US Passport.
