Our award-winning, nationally-renowned Early Childhood Center (ECC) is a model program and lab school for innovation designed to provide the best possible educational, developmental and social services to 147 very low-income preschoolers and their families-all eligible for Head Start-and to advance the field of early childhood education and development on a national level. We are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and set the standard for comprehensive educational and family services in the preeminent Early Childhood setting. Our holistic approach prepares children for success in elementary school and in life by offering a seamless, age-appropriate curriculum that strengthens language, literacy, motor, social and emotional and cognitive development, as well as integrated Family Services. Our educational curriculum includes art, music, movement, swimming, farm-to-table meals and many other components from our multifaceted settlement house.

Responsibilities:

We now have an opportunity for an outstanding teacher who will have diverse responsibilities: they will work in collaboration with Assistant Teacher(s) to assure a developmentally appropriate learning environment for our preschool children; develop weekly plans and implement age appropriate curriculum to nurture and stimulate children's development; perform ongoing assessments to differentiate children's strength's and needs; promote parent engagement through monthly class meetings, parent conferences and home visits; and cooperate with providers in adapting individualized curriculum for children with special needs.

Qualifications:

MS in Early Childhood Education with NYS certification preferred; BA with NYS certification required. We are particularly excited to interview candidates looking for a leadership career in early childhood education. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. We are looking for candidates to join us for the next school year starting on Monday, August 19 th , 2024.

Salary: $75,000-$84,000 annually
