Lead Software Engineer with Security Clearance

Navstar has an immediate opportunity for a Lead Software Engineer interested in solving mission-critical challenges involving data analytics, machine learning, and predictive analytics methodologies. The lead will work closely with government staff to improve their mission outcomes and will become an expert in the customer's mission and operations. They will research and incorporate leading-edge software technologies to design and produce new and creative solutions that will assist the customer in achieving their mission. They will work with users and other members of the team to define ground up development/software requirements. The lead will be instrumental in designing and developing solutions to solve mission-critical challenges surrounding predictive analytics and machine learning methodologies while utilizing AWS Cloud technologies. Required Qualifications: Work with users and other members of the team to define ground up development/ software requirements.
Design, develop, and maintain quality code that fulfills the customer user and software and system architecture objective requirements.
Ability to perform independent code work with little to no instruction or training.
De-bug and improve existing software to increase reuse and reduce the amount of new code that must be developed for each new application.
Define and develop test cases, execute automated and manual test modules.
Document basic use case processes with reference to the user interface, create screen captures, and provide to user manual author. Ability to create intuitive GUI design (optional).
Provide tech support to users in troubleshooting issues.
To be considered for this position you must hold an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.
Desired Skills, Education, and Abilities: Bachelor of Science in computer science, engineering, math, or other hard science field desired.
Advanced degree Preferred.
Experience with Python, C , or .NET, and/or java.
Big Data background is preferred. Strong problem-solving abilities.
Proven ability to design and develop high quality, well-structured and documented software.
Ability to create intuitive GUI design.
Ability to collaborate successfully in a small consultative team environment.
Database design and development skills as well as SQL experience (optional).
