Job Location: Melbourne, FL Job Description: L3Harris has an immediate opening for a Lead Software Engineer to join the Mission Networks team that provides modern, secure, reliable, and resilient telecommunications networks and information management systems. The team develops critical communication capabilities for air traffic control, air-to-ground data communication, secure access to situational awareness data and secure information sharing to state agencies. The Mission Networks team is growing, and we are looking for Software Engineers to leverage their expertise in delivering solutions to improve customer operations and to provide information management services. The team values strong knowledge of software development best practices and experience delivering & deploying applications and services. As a member of the L3Harris team, you will work alongside various cross-functional teams to help define requirements, software architectures, APIs, serverless frameworks and libraries to ensure the mission critical readiness of programs. Collaborate as part of a development team to implement Cloud & hybrid solutions while following proven best practices. The team may work on tasks such as fast prototyping, researching COTS products for integration to L3Harris Cloud applications, or implementing & deploying solutions to meet requirements. Essential Functions: Lead IPT team in design, development and integration of Software applications in an Agile development environment
Guide the team and contribute to delivering end-to-end solutions Coordinate with development team and customers to review designs and estimates, including identifying and documenting risks, assumptions and limitations
Implement applications satisfying both the program requirements and the business vision & roadmap Leverage DevOps concepts and best practices to build and continuously improve the automated build, test and deployment environments for the applications
Provide operational support for applications and tools to meet high availability and other SLAs
Ability to obtain and maintain an FAA public trust or Top Secret clearance Qualifications: BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent (STEM) and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of degree, 13 years of software experience.
10+ years' experience with Software development process, designing software solutions, carrying out full development lifecycle, and working with cross disciplinary Engineering teams to deliver and deploy solutions
Software Technical leadership experience guiding teams through Agile Scrum process, managing delivery schedules, and team staffing while maintaining high standards. Experience with DevSecOps tools and concepts, including but not limited to: Jira, Confluence, GitLab, Git, Nexus, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines & automation
Experience with C and Java, scripting and administering Linux and Windows, understanding of Internetworking with TCP/IP
Preferred Additional Skills: FAA experience 5+ years, preferred with messaging communication infrastructures Knowledge of ELK Stack technologies (Elasticsearch, Kibana, Beats & Logstash)
Knowledge of High Availability VV(1 VM(2
Familiarity of RF Specifications for VDLm2 (ATM/ATN Applications)
Familiarity of LTE Cellular communications
Familiarity of JMS delivery systems/architecture, SQL Server, Pos
