Job Title: Lead, Project Engineering (TS/SCI) Job Code: 9489 Job Location: Palm Bay, FL Job Description: L3Harris has an immediate opening for a Lead Project Engineer for full lifecycle Project Engineering support for a large space/reflector development program including hardware, software, and operations. The Lead PE will be managing the execution of the space/reflector development to ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks and leading a project team to meet customer requirements within allocated cost and schedule commitments in a growing business area. Essential Functions: Develops, oversees and coordinates the cost/schedule/technical aspects of ongoing engineering projects within the program guidelines set by the Program Manager and customer.
Reviews status of engineering projects and budgets, manages schedules, and prepares status reports.
Assesses engineering issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.
Identifies, tracks, mitigates, manages, and dispositions program-level risks.
Estimate resource and material needs for the project/product.
Provides the coordination between resource managers/supervisors and ensures all necessary reviews and approvals are received.
Provides the coordination between technical and supply chain teams to ensure all necessary material and subcontracts are received when needed.
Participate and lead on small to medium size teams and perform a wide variety of tasks.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
Experience with Earned Value Management (EVMS).
Experience with project engineering and program execution and managing multi-discipline programs across multiple locations.
Experience in hardware/software integration programs.
Experience managing projects with budgets of $40M+
Experience with Technical Supplier Management, Risk and Opportunity Management.
Experience with reflector/antenna space design programs and activities, or experience with developing a ground architecture (hardware/software/comm/etc), that will support satellite communications and collection. Active TS/SCI security clearance required.
Preferred Additional Skills: STEM or engineering degrees preferred.
Experience leading Government Contract development programs.
Experience with Government contract acquisition lifecycle.
Experience with management of design to cost activities.
Experience with program pursuit and proposal activities.
Experience in Root Cause Corrective Action process and techniques.
