Seeking a Lead Microbiologist to join a top FDA registered contract manufacturer of Skin Care, Over-The-Counter (OTC) preparations and Color Cosmetic products. Description: The Lead Microbiologist will be responsible for Microbiological Testing, as per USP, performing all microbiological analysis on raw and finished products, using expert knowledge of FDA and BAM procedures, as well as environmental quality of manufacturing area. all inspections. This role will have 4-6 direct reports. Conduct audits, validate operating systems and ensure consistent compliance with plant safety and sanitation standards and guidelines. Compiled standard operating procedures based on cGMP and HACCP requirements, and established the laboratory in functioning capacity. Performed plant audits with AIB, identify CCP's. Respond to problems concerning product quality and contamination in a prompt and effective manner, ensuring ongoing adherence to corporate and government standards. Conduct routine inspections of equipment and water by environmental plating, tank sampling and swab procedures, ensuring plant sanitation. Also performed hygiene inspections. Perform microbial preservation challenge studies on cosmetic, hair care, make-up and skin care items, and applied knowledge of preservative systems for use in international systems. Host FDA inspections, and compile a set of standard operating procedures based on cGMP guidelines, and validated operating systems.
