The Role:

Cognizant is looking for an experienced and innovative Lead Java Full Stack Engineer (Hybrid) to serve our diverse base of global clients. As a member of our team, you will build innovative, cloud-based software that powers modern business. An ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working in a diverse, collaborative, geographically distributed team. Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Participate in all aspects of agile software development, including design, implementation, and deployment
  • Requirements gathering and understanding
  • Develop and design restful services and APIs
  • Build reusable components
  • Translating designs and wireframes into high quality code
  • Optimizing components for maximum performance across a vast array of web-capable devices and browsers
  • The primary focus will be on developing UI components and implementing them following well-known ReactJS patterns
  • The associate will ensure that these components and the overall application is robust, easy to maintain and coordinate with rest of the team, working on different layers of the infrastructure.
Required qualifications
  • Proven experience as a full stack engineer
  • 8+ years of demonstrated experience in creating and implementing Full Stack Web applications
  • Experience in building backend applications with Java, J2EE, Springboot and deploying applications in cloud (Openshift / AWS).
  • Experience in creating, designing and integrating restful APIs
  • Good knowledge of Hypertext Markup language (HTML), Cascading Style Sheet (CSS), JavaScript, Responsive Web Development (RWD) Bootstrap, SASS framework (SCSS)
  • Good knowledge in JavaScript and ES6 features
  • Good understanding of React.js 17.x and its core principles
  • Experience with common front-end development tools / plugins such as Babel, Webpack, NPM, etc.
  • Experience in unit testing and automation
  • Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to optimize code for the best possible outcome
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment to create top-performing interfaces
  • Excellent debugging and performance optimization skills
  • Familiarity with code versioning tools like SVN / GIT
  • Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools (Jenkins)

The annual salary for this position is between $52,000 - 146,600 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

  • This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
