Duties Serves as the Lead Client Platform Security Officer and Personnel Reliability Program Certifying Official. Responsible for command security disciplines within the Nuclear Surety Program assigned to the 52d Strategic Signal Battalion, Stuttgart, Germany Serves as the Client Platform Security Office responsible for auditing two large Army COMSEC accounts and Certifying Official for the Nuclear Surety Program. Serves as the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP) Certifying Official for the Battalion. Reviews and recommends Personnel Reliability Program administrative procedures, operational and contingency plans, and procedures Conducts Personnel Reliability Program personal interviews and oversight briefings to ensure those assigned to the PRP know and understand their roles and responsibilities Advises the Reviewing Official concerning permanent disqualifications. Coordinates and schedules quarterly nuclear surety board meetings with all internal and external agencies in support of the PRP mission. Serves as the Battalion focal point and principal advisor for surety issues. Prepares for required inspections and audits in accordance with Army and other applicable regulations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Three year trial/probationary period may be required. Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance Incumbent may be subject to a non-lifestyle, counterintelligence scope polygraph examination to be administered in accordance with DoD Directive 5210.48 and applicable law. In accordance with Change 3 of AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, the incumbent of this position must successfully pass a urinalysis for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter. This position requires the incumbent to possess, or obtain and maintain, a valid official U.S. Passport. Position requires enrollment in the Department of the Army Cryptographic Access Program (DACAP). Failure to participate in DACAP renders the individual unsuitable to perform Client Platform Security Officer (CPSO) duties. Incumbent is required to satisfactorily complete the appropriate training and earn the required certification(s) for the position as outlined in DOD 8570.01-M, information Assurance Workforce, dated 19 December 2005, within 6 months of employment. Must be available for 24 hour on-call response to perform COOP operations duties during an emergency and is required to participate in COOP relocations for undetermined timeline, if needed. May require overnight stays. This position requires the employee to occasionally travel away from the normal duty station up to 10% of the time. Incumbent maybe required to work overtime and other than normal duty hours which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. This position has been designated key. Incumbent must be able to lift to 45 pounds. Prospective employee is required to sign a condition of employment statement (DA Form 7762-1) as part of the application process. IAW AR 50-5, Nuclear Personnel Reliability Program (PRP) requires the selection and retention of only those personnel who are emotionally stable and physically capable and who have demonstrated reliability and professional competence. If prospective employee does not meet or maintain program standards, they will not be selected for or retained in the Nuclear Personnel Reliability Program. Prospective employee must undergo initial evaluation of their reliability before being assigned to a nuclear PRP position. This position has been designated mission essential. Employee may be required to remain on duty or report for duty during severe weather or other installation closings. May be required to work overtime and other than normal duty hours which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Call back and emergency duty are regular requirements of this position. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by knowledge of Communications Security (COMSEC) concepts, principles, methods, and practices sufficient to serve as the focal point for the administration, distribution, management, and maintenance of all COMSEC material. Familiar with various Cryptographic Controlled Items to include KIV-7M, KIV-19M, KG- 175 TACLANES, AN/PYQ-10 Simple Key Loaders (SKL), Secure Global System for Mobile (SGSM), IRIDIUM, Voice over IP (vIPer) and Secure Terminal Equipment (STE). Responsible for maintaining COMSEC network operations utilizing the KMI, and In-line Encryptors (INE) for the purpose of integrating and processing transactions to generate, distribute, and manage data required for various secured communications systems. Specialized experience includes, or was supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined: (1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
