Lead Field Service Engineer Job Summary

The Lead Field Service Engineer - Power Systems will perform a wide range of engineering tasks and ensure proper installation, service and commissioning of products and services. As the Lead Field Service Engineer you will provide technical support for installation and commissioning of projects and provides maintenance, breakdown emergency support, and remote troubleshooting.

Lead Field Service Engineer Responsibilities

  • Perform installation and commissioning activities at customer site locations during ship construction
  • Perform troubleshooting activities at site locations during scheduled Port visits or at sea to diagnose problems, determine appropriate resolution, and implement corrective actions
  • Perform a wide range of engineering tasks to ensure technical integrity and proper installation and commissioning of GEPC Power systems and associated control systems.
  • Develop presentations and provide training and instruction to customers on system operations.
  • Promote sales of services, parts, and CM&Us
  • Provide on call support in response to customer calls for service

Lead Field Service Engineer Position Requirements

  • 3 years of field service and/or commissioning experience
  • US Citizen with the ability to achieve security clearance for Department of Defense projects
  • Able to travel up to 85% of the time? on short notice
  • Must be physically fit to be able to board vessels offshore.
  • Must be able to pass a HUET and offshore survival course which includes activities in a swimming pool.

Lead Field Service Engineer Preferred Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline (or Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline with a at least 3 additional years of related field service experience in a field service/ commissioning environment with Power systems and associated control systems).
  • Switchgear- Medium Voltage and Low Voltage
  • Circuit Breakers- MCCBs, ACBs, VCBs
  • Sensing Instruments- PTs, CTs, Transducers
  • Transformers- phase shifting transformers for VFD application
  • Motor Control Centers (MCCs)- Basic Starters with Start/ Stop, Multi Speed Starters, Wye-Delta Starters, Hand/ Off/ Auto control, Local/ Remote control
  • Soft Starters/ VFDs
