Requirements / Qualifications In cooperation with the District ERMHS Team, the Lead ERMHS Therapist assumes responsibility for the development of a coordinated ERMHS program for the Special Education department; consults with student services, principals, district social workers, school psychologists, teachers, and other specialists in developing, monitoring, and evaluating ERMHS strategies and services for General and Special Education students from 3-21 years of age. Provides assessment and intervention, ongoing counseling services and outside referrals to students and families for mental health services, serves students identified by the IEP team for Educational Related Mental Health Services, delivers student curriculum addressing mental health issues and participates on a Student Attendance and Review Board and Student Study Team as requested. Candidate should have knowledge of specialized professional principles and practices associated with adolescent development and psychology as applicable to an educational setting, State Education Code and General Education and Special Education learning environments. Candidate should have the ability to relate well with students, parents, all levels of staff, and other community-based mental health professionals and work cooperatively with others of diverse cultures and socio-economic backgrounds. Education and Licenses: Master's Degree in Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Clinical Social Work or Counseling Psychology. Five (5) years of experience after licensure. California State License as an Educational Psychologist, Clinical Social Worker, Clinical Psychologist or Marriage and Family Therapist. Valid Driver's License is also required. Bilingual preferred.
