The Lead Commercial/ Industrial Electrician position is responsible for implementing college wide electrical maintenance at all campus locations. This position requires experience in commercial electrical parts, components, installation, and ordering, as well as extensive knowledge of the commercial electrical construction trade. This is a 12-month staff position reporting to the Assistant Director of Construction and Maintenance. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum 6 years' experience in commercial electrical construction and/or maintenance High School Diploma or Equivalent Skilled in construction document interpretation, construction estimating and following verbal and written instruction related to construction. General computer proficiency in word, excel, electronic work order preferred Problem-solving skills, organization skills, the ability to multi-task and prioritize daily emergencies, plan long term project timelines, and communicate decisions clearly and effectively in a timely manner. Must be able to lift 75 pounds, climb and work from ladders, scaffolds, or lifts Must be able to continuously walk, climb stairs, stand, bend, and squat. Must be able to work in all outdoor seasonal conditions Must be able to respond to after hour calls Must have a valid driver's license PHYSCIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Must be able to lift 75 pounds, climb and work from ladders, scaffolds, or lifts Must be able to continuously walk, climb stairs, stand, bend, and squat. Must be able to work in all outdoor seasonal conditions Must be able to work in all weather conditions RESPONSIBILITIES: First responder to all electrical service requests and emergencies related to power. Perform and assign routine electrical maintenance including, but not limited to checking, trouble shooting, repair, and/or replace the following: circuits, light fixtures, lamps/ ballasts, receptacles, occupancy sensors, switches, and motors, inverters, generators, etc. Reviews work orders as required to establish priority, method of remediation or follow up to a complaint. Coordinates contractual services including but not limited to: elevator maintenance and inspection, fire alarm monitoring service, emergency power management, and others. Coordinate in-house electrician work load, prioritizing repairs and projects. Coordinates in-house electrical renovation and installation projects, closely following all applicable IBC building codes. Coordinate purchases of supplies and sub-contracts for services and supplies as related to electrical projects and repairs. Acquisitions include following purchasing laws and policies, requisitions for Purchase Orders and credit card procedures. Maintain invoices of purchases and services. Keep shop and employee trucks stocked and orderly. Maintain and/ or create procedures for fire alarm responses and power outages, elevators, generators, and inverters. Maintain and/ or create procedures for responding to work orders related to elevators. Maintain a professional work environment, abiding by NWCC rules and policies. Participate in crew meetings and attend safety meetings. Respond to call in work after hours and on weekends. Respond to inclement weather events, at times when campus is closed. Performs all other duties as requested by the Assistant Director or Director of Construction and Maintenance.
