The Special Procedure Technologist, Lead, Cardiovascular is an essential member of the invasive cardiology lab team with a high degree of responsibility. The Cardiovascular Specialist must be able to work well in an interdisciplinary team and in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to employ critical thinking skills and be patient safety focused. Assists with diagnostic, interventional and therapeutic procedures., including but not limited to: peripheral and coronary angioplasty/stent, atherectomy, laser, coronary ultrasound, temporary cardiac assist devices, mitral clip, TAVR, ablations, device implantation., lead and device extraction/explant.
Mentors, trains and provides guidance to technical staff. Assists in scheduling and resolving coverage issues. The Cardiovascular Specialist is a resource for staff and physicians on sterile technique and the use /maintenance of supplies and equipment
