A Lead Behavior Technician, under the direction of the Director of ABA/Autism Services, provides administrative oversite and structured support to behavior technician staff within the ABA/Autism Program. A Lead Behavior Technician also works in a variety of Community Mental Health, local community, and family home settings, providing one-on-one services related to the delivery of comprehensive or focused behavior intervention to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, neurological disorders, or other developmental disabilities. An employee in this class performs paraprofessional level work activities requiring a general working knowledge of the mental health field and behavior analysis; and provides services related to behavior assessment, treatment planning, and implementation of written behavior plans. Performs other related duties as assigned. Be a high school graduate or have successfully completed the General Educational Development Test (GED). An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a human services field, preferred. Must have at least three years' experience working as a behavior technician in the field of ABA/Autism. Must be credentialed as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) by the BACB. Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to obtain a Michigan Driver License within thirty (30) days of hire. Must have reliable transportation that may have to be used to carry out job duties of this classification. Preferred but not Required Bilingual candidates highly desired. Lived experiences with mental illness/developmental disabilities/substance use disorders valued. Individuals in Recovery and individuals with experience in Armed Services valued. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES An employee in this class generally performs work requiring sitting, walking, standing, and bending in order to work with children in a therapeutic environment; occasional lifting of objects weighing thirty-five (35) pounds or less. ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS A Lead Behavior Technician generally works in the offices of the Community Mental Health Services, although travel to other County locations and out of the County travel may be required.EVALUATION CONTENT Applicants for County employment may be subject to a post-offer criminal background check, depending on the nature and assignment of the position. When such check is conducted, an offer of employment is contingent upon the results of the criminal background check. Appointees must satisfactorily complete a probationary period before the appointment will be considered permanent. PURPOSE The purpose of this recruitment is to establish an eligible list from which to fill present and future vacancies in this classification in the County system. This list remains in effect for three months unless exhausted or extended.
