Position Summary:
We are currently seeking skilled Lathe Operators for contract to hire positions. The ideal candidates will have experience in setting up and operating lathe machines to produce parts that meet precise specifications. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation of our machining processes, contributing to the production of high-quality machined components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate lathe machines to perform tasks such as turning, boring, threading, and facing.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine job requirements.
- Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines.
- Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
- Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs.
- Measure and inspect completed parts to ensure they meet specifications.
- Adhere to safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Lathe Operator or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with lathe machine setup, operation, and maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
- Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or coursework is a plus.
- Willingness to undergo training and adapt to new processes and technologies.
