The Flagstaff KOA is a beautiful mountain campground set at 7000 feet among tall ponderosa pine trees at the base of the San Francisco Peaks. We are looking for enthusiastic and outgoing people to join our maintenance and landscape team. Located off Route 66, The Flagstaff KOA is just an hour from the beautiful Red Rocks of Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon, an hour and a half from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon and a short 15 minute drive from Northern Arizona University. We are open year-round offering camping in RVs, Cabins, Deluxe Cabins, tents & Teepees. Our goal is to create a great camping experience for our guests by offering excellent customer service. Ensures customers receive a high level of service consistent with our customer service philosophy

Help to ensure the safety of guest and campground property with attentive observation and action

Help enforce campground policies and implement solutions consistent with goals of park

Maintain the upkeep of the campground landscaping. This can include but is not limited to: trimming and shaping shrubs, trees, and plants for health and aesthetic looks as well as removal of unwanted weeds, grasses, leaf litter and other debris

Safe and proper use of equipment tools used in landscaping such as hedge line trimmer, chainsaw, blowers, hand tools, pruners, saws, rakes, shovels, cultivator, etc.

Maintenance and repair of irrigation system: sprinkler head replacement and adjustment, lateral line repairs and valve replacement

Planting and transplantation of trees, shrubs, plants, flowers as directed

Fertilize many different types of plants, trees, grasses and shrubs properly and efficiently

Clean equipment, tools, and work area as required

Complete various duties as assigned by manager which can include but are not limited to: light janitorial duties, assisting other departments in completion of tasks, overall support in daily performance of the campground

Requirements:

1 year experience in landscaping

Able to work with others and work independently

Recognize and identify plants, trees, shrubs and flowers used in landscaping

Ability to operate light vehicles safely on property

Previous experience with irrigation maintenance and repair including valves, PVC laterals and sprinklers

Knowledge of proper fertilization techniques

Intermediate knowledge of common tools used for gardening/landscaping

Intermediate experience with powered equipment used for gardening/landscaping

Capable of digging, bending, climbing, and other manual labor

Professional Appearance and attitude towards guests and fellow team members

Communicate professionally and patiently

Be on your feet during shift and able to lift at least 50 lbs.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Willingness to do a variety of tasks both in and out of the daily scope of work


Our landscaping projects are done in-house so a broad base of knowledge and strong work ethic is important. This is a seasonal position April - October. The working hours for this position will normally be Mondays - Fridays 8am-4:30pm with some occasional adjustment based off the needs and occupancy of the campground. This position has starting pay of rate $17.40 depending on your experience.
