Landscape Architect

Our family-owned full-service commercial landscape company began servicing the needs of residential and commercial developers in 1978. Today, we are one of the largest full-service landscape construction companies in the Chicagoland area making the visions of developers, general contractors, engineers and architects a reality. Relationships forged more than 35 years ago are still the cornerstones of our business today. We are a fully unionized company with over 150 employees with which we staff 30+ fully equipped construction and maintenance crews. Our 350-acre production nursery, sod farm, and office is centrally located in Sycamore, Illinois allowing us to efficiently service all of our projects throughout the Chicagoland area. In conjunction with our own expertise, we consult with the leading specialists and experts within our industry to provide a comprehensive solution for our customers; no project is beyond our scope of work. Our crews consist of experienced tradesmen specializing in every aspect of landscape, maintenance, and design. Overview Analyze landscape architecture drawings and construction feasibility studies. Responsibilities Prepare structure/project specifications using applicable technical and mathematical skills. Evaluate/apply/use building and estimating techniques and software to prepare drawings. Meet with clients to gather project/plan information for landscaping structures and projects. Evaluate/apply/use building and estimating techniques and software to prepare landscape architecture drawings. Review project bid documents and assist with preparation of proposals creating project budget and timelines. Evaluate/apply/use building and estimating techniques and software to prepare irrigation system designs. Evaluate/apply/use building and drawing techniques and software to prepare irrigation design models 2D, 3D and 4D to integrate into a BIM platform for analyze and prevent issues on the projects. Analyze/evaluate retaining wall structural and civil dwg drawings for estimating materials and budget for proposals. Travel to worksites to evaluate installation in accordance to landscape, irrigation and retaining wall designs. Qualifications Must have a bachelors degree in Architecture, Landscape Architect, equivalent or related and 2 years of experience with Landscape construction and design, and using Autodesk Software, including AutoCAD, Revit and Navisworks software for 2D, 3D, and 4D model design and analysis. Must have a valid U.S. drivers license, an Irrigation Design Certificate, and a Foremanship & Crew Leader Workshop Class Certificate. Must visit unanticipated worksites within the Chicagoland area, including Wisconsin and Indiana, on average 5 days per month. Those interested in this position, send CV to
