SUMMARY: Management Business Solutions is seeking a Landfill District Operations Manager for its client in Livermore, CA (link removed) The person will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations and long-term planning of multiple landfill sites within the designated district.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead daily operations, supporting Operations Managers in safety, service, and cost management.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations (Company, OSHA, etc.).
- Conduct root cause investigations for injuries/incidents, providing coaching and retraining.
- Manage personnel needs: hiring, training, disciplining, and performance evaluations.
- Develop short-term and long-term goals with senior management.
- Monitor P&L, ensuring budget adherence, and optimize equipment/labor costs.
- Interact with local agencies for customer satisfaction, efficiency, and contract negotiations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate's Degree or High School Diploma/GED with 2 years of relevant experience.
- 4 years of supervisory/P&L responsibility experience.
- Valid driver's license with an excellent driving record
- Work experience in a minimum of two of the following areas: operations, customer service, community relations, health and safety protocols, financial and human resources functions, safety programs oversight, budget management, and labor relations.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to develop and implement strategic plans.
- Knowledge of safety and compliance standards.
