Ladle Crane Operator

Job Details Division: Nucor Steel West Virginia LLC Location: Apple Grove, WV, United States Other Available Locations: N/A Basic Job Functions: Responsibilities of the Ladle Crane Operator includes but are not limited to safely performing all tasks associated with operating and maintaining the ladle crane and supporting the Melt Shop operation. Responsibilities also include: handling ladles in hot metal isle, working with the maintenance team to maintain the crane, picking up supplies and mobile equipment and moving them up to the deck, and planning crane moves. Additionally, the Ladle Crane Operator is expected to help with other Melt Shop positions at the hot metal isle as needed. The Ladle Crane Operator must complete the crane certification. Nucor teammates are expected to participate in and promote an atmosphere of cooperation and team work. Nucor Steel West Virginia is Nucor's new sheet mill with advanced steelmaking capabilities. This is a greenfield project, which is estimated to be fully operational in 2026. The new steel mill will employ 800 full-time teammates producing up to 3 million tons per year at one of the most technologically advanced sheet mills. This advanced manufacturing facility is to be located along the Ohio River in close proximity to both Huntington and Charleston, WV. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
