Position Description

JT Wimsatt Contracting, Inc., a building industry leader, founded in 1992, delivering projects with superior quality, on time and within budget for our clients. JT Wimsatt serves both public and private sector clients with a range of commercial, industrial, residential, government and specialty construction projects.

Laborers support work on our current projects throughout Los Angeles County. Previous concrete labor or equivalent experience highly desirable but not required. This position reports to the job Foreman and/or Superintendent. MINIMUM starting at $20.15/hour.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

• Erecting and disassembling scaffolding,
• Shoring
• Concrete Formwork
• Shoveling and vibrating concrete
• Digging ditches, trenches
• Using picks, shovels, and jack hammers
• Stripping formwork
• Dismantle and clean forms after use
• Loading and unloading material and equipment
• Identifying building materials and tools. Distribute to the appropriate locations as directed
• Cleaning construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
• Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

• 1+ year of Commercial concrete experience
• Lift up to 75 lbs.
• Work around heavy equipment and Machinery
• Walk on uneven ground
• Handle exposure to noise and extreme temperatures
• Working at heights
• Must use protective equipment
• Must have some tools (hammer, tool belt, 25' tape measure and pliers)

Los aspirantes a esta posicion deveran obtener la siguiente experiencia: Montar y desmontar Andamios, apuntalamiento, encontrabajo de concreto, palear y vibrar cemento, cavar zanjas, trincheras, usar palas, Jack Hammers, depojamiento y limpieza de formas de madera despues de averse usado, cargando y descargando materiales de construccion I identificando toda classe de materiales, herramientas para hacer distribuidos a las diferentes locations de la empreza, limpiar las obras para eliminar toda clase de peligros. Las actividades fisicas de cada empleado son variables dependiento de la fase de la obra. Experiencia: 1+ anos de experiencia en construction commercial de concreto. Tiene que poder levanter mas de 75 lbs, trabajar alredeor de equipos de maquinarias pesadas, caminar en areas sin pavimentar, poder trabajar bajos mucho ruidos y temperaturas extremas y por ultimo trabajar en Alturas. Tiene que usar usar equipo protector de Seguridad en todo tiempo. Herramientas que tiene que traer: un martillo, cinta de medir de 25', alicate.
