Salary Range: $18.40 - $23.00 per hour Job Summary: The City of Greeley is seeking one seasonal employee to join Greeley's Non-Potable Team and become a vital part of maintaining 40 pump stations while upholding our high standards for curb appeal and supporting indoor and outdoor non-Potable assessments. As a cornerstone of our city's commitment to non-Potable, this role offers an opportunity to contribute to Greeley's ongoing efforts to keep and maintain the high standards of the non-Potable system. This position will report to the Raw water operations supervisor and assignments will be directed by the Raw Water crew supervisor for the duration of the assignments. The non-Potable water seasonal position involves diverse responsibilities, including the maintenance and management of the 40 pump station sites, ditches, and ponds, as well as assisting with other duties as assigned to them. Primary duties encompass ensuring the sites remain in good condition throughout the irrigation season, and actively participating in hands-on tasks such as station reads, weeding, trash removal, and executing special construction projects. Primary water assessment duties involve working directly with irrigation systems, identifying leaks, recording data measurements, and representing Greeley with professionalism and enthusiasm. Regardless of weather conditions, there will always be tasks to tackle, rain or shine. The typical schedule for this position is from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, five days a week, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend and evening shifts as required by State and Federal regulations. Experience, Knowledge, Skills: Minimum Requirements Minimal to no previous experience required. Must be 18 years old. Possess a valid driver's license with two (2) years of driving experience and a clear driving record. Preferred One (1) or more years' experience with native landscape maintenance or turf maintenance. One (1) or more years' experience with irrigation systems. One (1) or more years' experience with water. One (1) or more years' experience in customer service. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to operate pickups, be trained to tow a small utility trailer. Ability to operate machinery and hand garden tools such as power tools, trimmer, lawn-mover, blower and rakes, shovels, and pruners. Collaboration skills, including the ability to work with others from different areas and backgrounds to reach a common goal. Ability to communicate and work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and ages Customer service skills, including the ability to actively listen, address customer needs, defuse tense situations, and maintain an open, flexible, and friendly demeanor. Ability to work in a safe manner and report unsafe activity and conditions. Basic computer skills in order to enter timesheet information into Oracle and basic knowledge of Microsoft products. Essential Functions: Communicates effectively with staff and members of the public. Performs mowing duties as assigned. Cleans, organizes, and maintains tools and equipment. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, and the public. Supports staff in conducting indoor and outdoor residential, commercial, industrial, institutional, and multifamily water assessments. Collects and records field data, including water measurements, station reads and report any issues they might encounter. Supervisory Responsibilities No supervisory responsibilities Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Travel May be required to travel up to 40% of the time. Work Environment Work outside with exposure to all weather elements. Field work requires abilities to stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, use handheld tools, and measuring water and water attributes. Frequently exposed to wet and the/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. Exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, chemicals, electrical and plumbing materials, extreme weather conditions, and noise levels. Mix and use chemicals for weed and grass control following label and local regulations. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a group. May occasionally work alone and/or evenings or early morning. Hours may be flexible depending on assigned area, 40 hours per week, with weekends and evening as assigned. Exposure to vegetation that can cause punctures, biting insects, wildlife, off-leash dogs. Physical Requirements Communication skills to adequately convey information to contractors, property owners, managers, other personnel, and the general public, in writing and on phone. Vision enough to read computer screens and written documents to assist the public and complete work assignments. Manual dexterity enough to accurately input, retrieve and verify work assignments and to operate hand and power tools, move objects. Duties may occasionally require moderate to heavy physical effort that includes stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling; frequent standing or walking; frequently lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds; maintaining arms and hands in the same position for repetitive tasks and frequently working with light objects and light hand tools. Ability to move over rough, uneven, and rocky surfaces.
