For information on our international network visit . Job Summary Laborer position for asphalt road construction crews in Venango, Clarion, Forest, Warren, McKean, and Jefferson counties. This is a union position. Main Responsibilities Perform all work in a safe manner, maintaining an excellent safety environment Participate in daily safety huddles Shovel asphalt and other materials Luting / raking asphalt and aggregates Set-up and take down temporary work zones efficiently Optimal traffic control in and around work zones (flagging) crafting a safe environment for traffic and onsite workers Assist in backing and dumping of tri-axles and milling machines Handling of hot liquid asphalt and various materials Remove old asphalt, concrete and other materials using a jackhammer or cut-off saw Erect and remove delineating devices such as barrels and cones Seal end joints Help fill water tanks on equipment as needed Compact material with small hand rollers and vibratory plates Education High School Diploma or GED Skills Perform tasks efficiently Build professional relationships that develop excellent teamwork Must be safety conscious Physical Requirements Able to work long shifts - up to 7 days a week when necessary Must be willing to work night shifts when applicable Must capable of long periods of standing / walking / moving without sitting Must have the ability to lift up to 75 pounds Must preform tasks while working in various seasonal climates Able to complete tasks with frequent bending, twisting, scooping Ability to climb when needed Colas Inc. and its subsidiaries are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
