We are looking for a Laboratory Technologist with experience in the life sciences and using multiple platforms. This person must be able to work independently toward a defined goal. The Laboratory Technologist is accountable for processing of blood, characterization of the final product and maintenance of batch records. Additionally the Laboratory Technologist will be part of a team identifying and evaluating new technologies as applicable to business. The Laboratory Technologist must be able to recognize and suggest solutions, new ideas and improvements. He or she must consistently meet quality specifications and understand cGMP. All activities will be performed in compliance with industry regulations, site operating procedures, quality and safety policies and cost standards. Other assignments as requested. Responsibilities: Trained on all aspects of cord blood processing as pertains to this position. Adherence to Universal Precaution at all times. Familiar with nucleic acid isolation, qPCR, cell isolation, cell characterization and cryopreservation is desired. Ability to use aseptic Technique. Understanding of cGMP Guidelines. Able to organize, establish and complete priorities. Strict attention to detail. Ability to work in a collaborative style in a fast paced team environment. Demonstrates outstanding work ethic. Ability to identify and verbalize problems. Basic skills in MS Office and Excel. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in life sciences and 2 years of laboratory experience OR Masters degree in life sciences Preferred Qualifications: Laboratory experience in an FDA-regulated environment Working Conditions: Clean room; Receiving and Labeling; Controlled Rate Freeze area, materials warehouse. Potential Job and Task Hazards: Position requires handling blood and blood products; working with LN2 freezers; working with large LN2 vapor phase storage tanks. What do we offer?
