Laboratory Technician 1

The Position Laboratory Technicians perform standardized technical laboratory procedures requiring knowledge in the life and physical sciences. Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training. Nevada Department of Corrections is seeking a full-time Laboratory Technician I (Phlebotomist). This position is located at Lovelock Correctional Center in Lovelock, NV. Incumbent must have experience in phlebotomy, be familiar with medical laboratory tests and with methods of collecting and processing samples and specimens for medical laboratory testing. Experience working in a Correctional or institutional environment is preferred but not required. Duties will primarily include accessing Lab Corp orders in computer, blood draws, sending out to Lab Corp, ordering supplies and other duties as needed.
