Job Summary

The Microbial Solutions (Accugenix) team at Charles River Labs is seeking a Laboratory Intern onsite located in Newark, DE.

Job Summary

While in a hands-on educational setting and under the close supervision of a Manager or Lead Technologist you will provide daily support to ensure that all laboratory functions are carried out. You will also learn how to carry out those functions within regulatory and GMP guidelines in accordance with 21 CFR parts 210 and 211.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receive, unpack, and organize customer samples for laboratory processing.

  • Assist in the preparation and aliquot reagents according to laboratory SOP's.

  • Perform cleaning of laboratory equipment as needed.

  • Restock consumables and materials required for sample processing.

  • Under supervision and guidance operate Laser cutter.

  • Dispose of microbial cultures, chemicals, recyclables, sharps, and glass in proper waste containers.

  • Learn and comply with all aspects of laboratory safety, safety stations, safety manuals, safety SOP's & MSMS/SDS sheets.

  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a College-Level program majoring in a laboratory area: Microbiology, Biology or similar for at least 1 year required.

  • Must have a basic understanding of the lab setting.

  • Ability to prioritize and adapt to changes based on business needs.

  • Communicate and collaborate with various levels of Laboratory professionals.

  • Strong attention to detail and above average organization skills.

  • Flexibility to take on new tasks and assignments.

  • Ability to work overtime as needed.

Compensation

The pay for this position is $20 per hour USD.
