Job Description: Job Description Summary
"Support product development engineers through physical property and optical testing/characterization, sample prep (90-95%).
"Also, may include method validation, maintaining lab waste and proper documentation/writing summaries (5-10%).
"Additional work pending division priorities.

Position Overview:
Works with moderate work direction and can identify issues/problems but may need assistance in resolving. Worker performs physical, optical and/or mechanical analyses and tests required for research, development, or quality control of processes and products. Assists with compiling, analyzing, interpreting, and documenting results. Ability to follow procedures and methods. Experience in a lab or technical environment is preferred. Must be computer literate with good communication and time management skills.

Position Duties:
1. Follow test methods and verbal direction to perform testing requested by engineers.
2. Record, analyze and report the sample properties/performance correctly and accurately
3. Actively engage in communication related to testing and results, equipment issues, and workload progress. Communicating results in both oral and written forms.

Basic Qualifications:
" Completed at least one (1) semester of a post high school degree program from an accredited college or university or two (2) years of experience as a technician in lieu of the above education requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:
" AAS degree or bachelor s degree or some college exposure plus work experience
" Applicant must be comfortable working in a laboratory environment.
" Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
" Excellent oral and written communication skills.
" Self-motivated, flexible and results oriented.

Soft Skills:
Experience with the Microsoft suite of computer programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
Good communication, ability to multi-task, Attention to detail, Good time management

Assists with compiling, analyzing, interpreting, and documenting results. Ability to follow procedures and methods and to work well on a self-directed team is required. Good mechanical aptitude and skills as well as experience and specific training in inspection procedures and/or the product line are required. Experience in a lab or technical environment is preferred. Must be computer literate with good communication and time management skills.
