Laboratory Assistant

The Laboratory Assistant II is responsible for the accurate and timely pre-analytical functions of specimen collection, labeling, receipt and processing. Also the appropriate handling and/or disbursement of laboratory data and patient results. The incumbent works with acute care and outpatient caregivers, vendors, consultants and other Laboratory services staff in performing their duties. Required Qualifications: Successful completion of a nationally accredited phlebotomy or medical assistant training program, 1 year phlebotomy experience. Demonstrated outstanding Service Excellence experience. Demonstrated experience with State and Federal and other regulatory Compliance regulations including Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP), EMTALA, ABN, and HIPPA Preferred Qualifications: Associate's degree or 2 years of college with courses in biological sciences and medical terminology Certification from an approved government agency or nationally recognized professional organization (ASCP, NCA, etc.) upon hire Why Join Providence?
