Lab Technician

Job Summary: Perform testing of new and existing products while providing input and feedback toward design and effectiveness. Prepare samples and prototypes; assist with trials, monitoring, collecting data, screen and evaluate new materials. Duties/Responsibilities: Operation of all lab equipment and procedures Provide product testing support to all Technical Service representatives and Product Development Engineers as needed Prepare product samples and prototypes for application analysis and presentations Assist in maintaining a well-organized laboratory Communicate effectively to Technical Service and other internal customers regarding duties performed and results obtained Make product recommendations, including materials, design and process type utilizing existing materials and processes. Analyze and evaluate customer applications including material screening, product testing and customer site visits Support existing customers with technical information and services including product training, application troubleshooting, samples and prototypes Participate in or lead interdepartmental teams as appropriate to develop business or improve systems Service internal customers as a key technical resource to the division Experience working with pressure sensitive materials, films, paper, coating and packaging Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal skills Strong ability to analyze problems and issues Attention to detail, accuracy and follow up on technical responsibilities Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects Ability to work well with others in a team environment Self-motivated and goal oriented Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, Auto CAD, and QAD Other duties as assigned Education and Experience: High school diploma required Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Manufacturing environment preferred Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
