Farm Road Stillwater, Oklahoma, 74078 United States Hiring Supervisor: Megan Loane Hiring Range (Contingent upon available funding): 14.00 - 20.50, Hourly Work Schedule: M-F 8-5, Weekends, Holidays, and after hours as necessary to accommodate client needs Faculty Appt Period: Job Summary: This position is responsible for assisting with daily processing of diagnostic specimens, data entry into the laboratory's software system, dissection of deceased animals submitted for autopsy, maintenance of clean and safe laboratory spaces, disposal of animal and laboratory biohazardous waste, laundry, cleaning and autoclaving glassware. All other duties as assigned. Regular working hours will be 9am to 6pm Monday through Friday. May require some overtime, occasional Saturdays and holidays. Intermittent exposure to foul odors from animal remains/samples. Possible exposure to diseases communicable from animals to humans. Hazardous chemical and equipment use. Rabies prophylactic vaccination (or proof of adequate titer) required. Provided by OADDL. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Special Instructions to Applicants Please attach a resume. Education & Experience Position Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: High School/GED Two years related experience. Vocational/technical or post - secondary education may be substituted in lieu of experience. Valid driver's license is required. Must be able to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with veterinarians, animal owners and co-workers. Must provide excellent customer service and follow laboratory procedures. Dependable, courteous, conscientious team player with attention to detail and problem solving skills are required. General knowledge of mammalian anatomy and ability to recognize major organs and tissues is preferred. Preferred Qualifications: 4 years experience in an animal diagnostic laboratory setting or some type of related laboratory setting.
