Lab Technician Duties: Requires ability to work well within a small core team environment to continuously improve testing throughput and schedules to meet demand needs. Work with other engineers team to insure fixtures, set-up, operation and acquisition of data for test requests. Build assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, units-under-test and perform functional testing. Perform verification testing and troubleshoot of electronic assemblies and sub assemblies. Record and collect data from pre and post component/assembly after test or troubleshoot. Maintain track record of test and troubleshooting data. Read and understand the essential elements of electronics schematics and layout. Perform work from Engineering sketches, notes, instructions and schematics with limited supervision. Perform rework of resistor, capacitor, jumper wire and various other reworked when needed. Perform board bring-up, configuration and system checkout when needed. Troubleshoot complex circuit from system to assemblies to component levels to determine root-cause failures. Install and maintain test instrumentation. Help maintain a clean environment in the lab and manage lab equipment, tools and supplies. Skills: Support total quality management objectives in a team environment. Advanced PC skills, including training and knowledge of installed and remove software packages. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to troubleshoot complex circuit from system to assemblies to component levels to determine root-cause failures. Ability to operate a personal computer including using a Windows based and Linux base operating system and related software. Computer or server installation experience a plus. Familiarity with mechanical assembly, cable routing and quality standards a plus. Good communication and interpersonal skills, including written and verbal. Strong initiative and ability to work in a self-directed environment. Demonstrate understanding or how to successfully work in cross-functional organizations. Analytical and problem-solving skills, strong communication skills. Excellent knowledge of server systems, PC systems, and computer architecture. Ability to constantly move around department, required. Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting heavy items (up to 50 lbs. unassisted). Position is required to use manual tools and power equipment common in the maintenance and repair of electronic equipment. Moderate walking, frequent stoping, bending, and reaching required. The candidate must be able to work in a fast pace environment. Candidate May be exposed to loud noise, dust, electrical and chemical hazards. Education: Associate or BS Degree in Technical Engineering or in Science or in Electronics. Mid level knowledge in Touch up/ Rework Mid to high level Proven debug efficiency. Mid level knowledge in Linux commands Pay Range: $40 - $44 The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
