Job Summary General supervision is required. Building test fixtures and performing UL and CSA approval power and gardening tool testing Salary: $53,000 - $65,000 per year Essential Job Duties Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. Building of test fixtures for tool and accessory testing. Performing test projects of a complex nature. Perform project work requiring only general supervision. Perform highly repetitive test projects. Assist Project Leaders in research testing. Assist in performing all UL/CSA testing of power tools Participate in warehouse test sample management and storage Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Become certified by UL and CSA for product testing and participate in regular audits. Electro / mechanical aptitude. Knowledge of power and gardening tools operation & repair. Be familiar with UL/CSA standards. A good understanding of Electrical/Electronic theory and circuit operation. Supervisory Responsibility This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment The majority of work will be in an open Lab environment with low to moderate noise using various electronic and mechanical measuring instruments, hand tools, and power tools such as DMM, Calipers, Leakage current meters, Power Drills, and various cutting tools that are both powered and hand operated. A warehouse to store past and pending projects and an outside work area for messy or noisy work. This position will sometimes work in an open office setting that is quiet, and fast-paced and fosters continuous learning while operating under high demand/volume. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopy/fax/scanner, library with filing cabinets and shelves. Travel Some travel for training may be required for this position. Education and/or Experience Needed AS degree in an electrical field or education beyond High School such as college, accredited schools, trade schools, seminars, or military in the electrical or electronic fields. Minimum two years experience in a technical environment, preferably within the power tool industry.
