Purpose: The position will work in laboratories on samples preparation and data acquisition using a variety of analytical instruments such as the ICP-OES, Microwave digester, etc. Essential Job Functions: Update chemical and supply inventory Cleaning and maintaining lab equipment, including recalibration of equipment. Maintaining equipment records and daily work logs. Staying current on technical and scientific advances in their field. Supervise student workers and casual employees and train them on how to use research equipment and instruments. Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics Competency with MS-Excel spreadsheet and Word processing. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. Good organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and in a team. Certifications, Licenses, Registrations Physical Demands: Light sedentary office work Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
