The general role of the Lab Technician I - Fiber Optics is building and testing fiber optic cables within the lab with an end goal of supporting field operations, meeting customer needs, and providing maximum operating efficiency. Lab Technician I - Fiber Optics will have the opportunity to apply technical expertise to a variety of situations by evaluating problems and implementing solutions. Qualifications No experience required Ability to work under minimal supervision Ability to focus on tedious tasks Ability to differentiate color codes Basic power tool operation Able to take accurate measurements with a tape measure Able to follow work direction both verbally and in writing Must possess verbal and written communication skills with the ability to maintain professionalism Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Visio Dependable; trustworthy; and possess a positive and productive attitude Working Conditions Sit/use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls / reach with hands and arms / - for extended periods Twist, pinch, and pull with fingers and hands repetitively Lift and/or move up to 75-100 pounds when required Additional Eligibility Qualifications This position requires the completion of a thorough background and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
