Fruit Growers Laboratory, Inc. is now searching for a Lab Technician/Field Representative for our San Luis Obispo, CA Laboratory location.
- Duties include analyzing water samples for the presence of bacteria, sampling/picking up environmental samples of drinking water, waste water and surface water plus sampling/picking up agricultural samples of soil, plant tissue and irrigation waters. Also shipping samples to corporate laboratory, and other general office work.
- The position will start with training in both the laboratory and side-by-side route training in our company vehicle to learn the daily responsibilities and experience customer service and experience with our customers. Potential flexibility to schedule depending on our customers needs, environmental factors, and the changing market.
Our customers range from private citizens to government agencies. The ability to engage with our customers and provide a positive and professional service experience is important, as well as accurately filling out forms and collecting necessary data. You will be interacting with our customers as needed, including notifying about samples that failed water quality standards.
- Lab experience is helpful but not required. Full training is offered for both laboratory work and field technician duties.
- The ideal applicant will be eager to learn, possess great attention to detail while thinking critically, have the ability to multi-task and can work independently as well as in a team setting.
This is a full-time position with benefits. This is a full time position with benefits which include health, dental, and vision insurance, and a 401(k) program. The salary is $25.00 per hour depending on experience. The schedule is mainly Monday thru Friday, but some flexibility will be needed due to regulatory and/or customer needs.
Must have a clean driving record. Must be self motivated and self disciplined, willing to work outdoors when needed, be able to perform physical activities including lifting up to 50 lbs. Join our team now and submit your resume.
