JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Lab Support Specialist Department: Lab Support FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Reports To: Operations Training and Support Manager Manages People: No Experience: Typically requires 1-2 years' experience Level of Supervision: Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work Job Summary: The Lab Support Specialist will be responsible for completion of all data pulls to ensure there are no "overdue samples" for all sites. Providing after-hours support for all lab sites. Providing support for clients and sales after normal business hours. Essential Responsibilities/Duties: Identify all CAP required sample information. Identify overdue samples and problem solve them. Problem solves incorrect information and correct as needed. Provide remote support for all sites via email. Provides remote support for clients and sales. Provide oversight of physician/patient information required by HIPPA/CLIA/CAP and overall best practices. Notify management of any present or potential issues related to quality of service, processes, or compliance. Qualifications: Education: H.S Diploma or equivalent Some college coursework in healthcare administration, business, science, or laboratory related education, preferred. Competencies/Skills: Strong attention to detail Strong organizational skills Ability to maintain confidentiality of all medical, financial, and legal information Ability to work independently and complete work assignments accurately and in a timely manner Exceptional oral and written communication skills Experience: 6 months prior experience working in a laboratory environment. Experience working with MS Office Suite, required.
