Clean Harbors is seeking a Lab Chemist. In this position you are responsible for the analysis of samples to determine their chemical and physical properties. Why work for Clean Harbors? Health and Safety is our priority, and we live it 3-6-5 Competitive pay and benefits Comprehensive health benefits coverage after 30 days Group 401K program with company matching component Opportunities for growth and development for all the stages of your career Generous paid time off, company paid training and tuition reimbursement Positive and safe work environments Key Responsibilities: Ensures that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times Analysis of various metals to include but not limited to mercury Wet chemistry testing including Chlorine and Fluoride analysis Performs analysis of facility samples using GC, IC, ICP, and various analytical laboratory instruments Sample digestion Calibrate, maintain and troubleshoot equipment as needed Properly manage waste generated as a result of analytical procedures Maintain a safe working environment that complies with all applicable OSHA regulations Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by management What does it take to work for Clean Harbors? Bachelor of Science required (Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or related science preferred) 3 + years of prior experience in a laboratory setting preferred 1+ year experience with ICP instrumentation for metals preferred Wet chemistry, flashpoint, Calorimetry experience preferred TOC (Total Organic Carbon) preferred Wastewater experience a plus. Knowledge operating GC, IC is nice to have. Excellent communication and organization skills Computer savvy Must have a positive safety record Ability to document, record, and analyze data and information Lift up to 50lbs, climbing stairs, bend, stoop and stand for long hours. Must be able to work a rotating shift to include days, nights and weekends. Join our team today.
