Lab Assistant/Preceptor (EMS) Location: Great Bend, KS 67530 Department: Nursing & Healthcare Education Job Status: Part-Time Status: Accepting Applications Position Description Responsible for assisting the instructor in coordinating and facilitating the labs/clinicals necessary to educate the EMS students. Position Responsibilities 70% - Educate and assist students with learning of the various skills necessary for EMS Education.25% - Evaluate student performance.5% - Performs other duties as needed or assigned. Expectations Extensive knowledge of skills required of EMS technician.Ability to teach skills.Ability to work with a variety of students and instructors.Ability to be a student advocate. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Education - Prior to helping with labs must have successfully completed the level of certification assisting. Other Skills - Be able to work with multiple personalities and entities. Be able to show competence in skills expected to teach. Lab Assistant - Must be EMT certified. Preceptor - Must be AEMT certified or carry Paramedic Certification. Physical Requirements The work requires minor physical exertion such as short periods of standing, walking over rough uneven surfaces, some recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities. Job may require recurring lifting of lightweight objects with infrequent bending or stooping alternating with the lighter activities. Job requires minimal agility and dexterity. Regular exposure to unfavorable environments such as: weather, body fluids, confined, dirty and noisy locations.
