Department: Nursing Normal Work Schedule: Varies depending on department need and lab schedule Anticipated Start Date: July 1, 2024 Salary: $45,500.00 Job Summary: A lab assistant is responsible for assisting the faculty of the College of Health Professions and Wellness in preparing and presenting material to clinical students; assists faculty in instructing and evaluating students and provides individual assistance to students when required. This position Is also responsible for the maintenance of laboratory equipment and supply inventory. Duties and Responsibilities: Coordinates lab and simulation activities as directed. Promotes an effective learning environment within labs and simulations. Assists in providing clinical/lab/simulation resources to enhance learning. Process and award scholarships related to special enrollment initiatives, including business partnerships and Finish What You Started Participates in the assessment of student progress in relation to course objectives and clinical activities. Establishes and maintains equipment necessary for college laboratory/simulation experiences. Coordinates resources, equipment, and supplies available in the clinical laboratories and simulation lab. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates creative laboratory and simulation experiences under the direction of faculty. Responsible for maintaining active CPR instructor status and providing recertification classes to faculty/staff as needed. Supervises clinical lab and simulation coordinators as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Nursing, current, unencumbered licensure with the Alabama Board of Nursing, valid driver's license current liability insurance, current CPR certification, proof of current immunizations, and either demonstrated or presumptive potential for effective teaching and for satisfying the duties and responsibilities of a clinical instructor Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Nursing Required Documents: Cover Letter Resume Unofficial transcripts (official required upon hire) Employee Benefits: JSU strives to provide great quality of life to our employees through an attractive, competitive benefits package for our full-time faculty and staff.
