Contract L&E Defense Litigation Attorney

Location: San Diego, California

Schedule: Hybrid schedule, with 2-3 days onsite

Hourly Rate: Up to $120 per hour

Duration: Approximately 5 months (through the summer)

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis related to labor and employment (L&E) defense litigation matters.

  • Assist in drafting responses to EOCs (Equal Opportunity Complaints), complaints, motions, and other legal documents.

  • Manage and support discovery processes, including document review, production, and responses.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to develop and execute case strategies.

  • Prepare for and participate in hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings as needed.

  • Handle extensive motions practice, including drafting, filing, and arguing motions.

  • Provide legal guidance and support to internal clients on L&E matters.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree or equivalent from an accredited law school.

  • Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California.

  • 5-8 years of experience in labor and employment defense litigation.

  • Strong understanding of federal and state employment laws and regulations.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in legal research tools and technology.

  • Prior experience with discovery management and motions practice.

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all aspects of work.



Pay Details: $80.00 to $120.00 per hour
