Position Summary: Supervises the KidZone. Responsible for the welfare, safety and satisfaction of members and participants in the Kid Zone. Essential Functions: 1. Acts on behalf of Director in his/her absence, with regards to general member and/or staff concerns. 2. Supervises the KidZone which includes recruiting, orientation, training, coaching, recognizing, and evaluating childcare staff. 3. Monitors parent/child feedback. 4. Ensures that KidZone has adequate staff at all times, securing substitutes when necessary. 5. Meets with staff on a regular basis. 6. Develops and implements structured plan for KidZone. 7. Handles team staff concerns as they occur and communicate them to supervisor. 8. Maintains health and safety standards of the KidZone. 9. Provides superior customer service to members and their children by assisting with problem solving and conflict situations. 10. Assists in the coordination of special staff, member and volunteer events. 11. Participates in branch management functions and planning. 12. Attends all required staff meetings and trainings. Assists supervisor with facilitating staff meetings. 13. Knows and understands branch and association policies and procedures. 14. Ensures proper set-up and break-down of area on a daily basis. 15. Communicates appropriately with other staff members in a positive manner. 16. Assists with volunteer training and modeling procedures. High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 3 years of experience working with children in education and/or healthcare. 2. Prior experience working in a service-oriented environment. 3. Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience. 4. Ability to work well with children of various ages and abilities. 5. Ability to communicate effectively in a variety of situations. 6. Ability to make decisions and work as a team player. 7. Ability to multi-task effectively. 8. Willingness to maintain a flexible schedule. 9. Ability to creatively solve problems. 10. Ability to maintain safe environment. 11. Excellent organizational and presentation skills to aide in planning within the Kid Zone. 12. Familiarity and experience with budget control. Physical Demands: Ability to plan, lead and participate in activities.
