Job Title: SPED Teacher - K-2 Autism Support Supplement Classroom
Location: Philadelphia, PA

Job Description:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Education (SPED) Teacher to join our team in Philadelphia, PA. This position is for a K-2 Autism Support Supplement Classroom, providing specialized instruction and support to students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) within a general education setting. This is a full-time position for the full school year.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs) for students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in the K-2 supplement classroom.
Provide direct instruction and support to students with ASD in various academic subjects, including language arts, math, science, and social studies, using evidence-based teaching strategies and differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of students.
Utilize visual supports, assistive technology, and other resources to enhance communication, engagement, and learning outcomes for students with ASD.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, and respected, and where they can develop social skills, self-regulation strategies, and independence.
Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to coordinate and implement effective instructional and behavioral strategies, monitor student progress, and address any concerns or challenges.
Conduct ongoing assessments and data collection to track student progress, adjust instruction and interventions as needed, and ensure compliance with IEP goals and objectives.
Participate in professional development opportunities, team meetings, and parent conferences to stay informed about best practices in special education and to collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to support student success.

Requirements:

Bachelor's or master's degree in special education or a related field from an accredited institution required.
Valid Pennsylvania teaching certification in Special Education (PK-8 or 7-12) required.
Previous experience working with students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) preferred.
Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices, instructional strategies, and behavior management techniques for students with ASD.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and parents.
Commitment to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion in the classroom and to meeting the unique needs of students with disabilities.
