Junior Editor with Security Clearance

Job Title: Junior Editor TMGL is a small business with headquarters in Northern Virginia. We are a defense contractor providing support for media relations, communications strategies, managing social media, websites, generating high end graphics and all other aspects of public relations. TMGL is seeking a Junior Editor for a quarterly Army publication for the US Army acquisition organization at Ft. Belvoir, Virginia. This position will assist in the research and writing of in-depth articles factually presented in narrative form. Assists in establishing news features; arranges and conducts interviews and provides writing and editing support for a news blog, online platforms and a print magazine. Prior military experience is not required, but preferred. Required skills:
• Strong proofreading, fact-checking and editing skills for news articles, outlines, reports, announcements, and manuscripts contributed by other staff members.

• Write caption headlines.

• Rewrites as necessary.

• Knowledgeable of Army regulations and policy for publishing and printing.

• The candidate shall write and edit 4 to 10 organic articles and news releases per month.

• Education: Minimum B.S. or B.A. degree or equivalent experience preferred.

• Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 yrs experience and proficiency in AP Style and familiarity with writing content for online platforms. Salary: $85K-$90K based upon experience and qualifications
Place of Performance: Government site, US Army Base, Ft. Belvoir, VA Benefits: TMGL provides a full range of benefits including health insurance, life insurance, 401K with matching, vacation and PTO.
