Junior Accountant - Hybrid in Sterling, VA.

- Pay: $22-$30/hr depending on experience. This position is temporary and can go permanent for the right candidate at a salary of 60K-80K depending on experience.

Overview of the Junior Accountant role:
- Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts monthly (including accounts payable, prepaids and other liability accounts) for monthly closing process.
- Transaction processing including invoices, cash receipts, credit cards, and collections.
- Maintains financial records for subsidiary companies by analyzing balance sheets and general ledger accounts.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close.
- Process expense reimbursements, international wires, and student award payments.
- Communicate with departments and vendors to resolve issues/discrepancies relating to invoices and payments.
- Prepare and enter journal entries for prepaids and month end invoice accruals.
- Maintain Vendor and Journal Entry files.
- Assist with financial audit as needed.
Preferred Qualifications for the Junior Accountant:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 1-3 years of accounting experience
- Advanced excel skills is preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with a non-profit is preferred
