Your Role and Responsibilities As a junior Test Automation Engineer, you will perform a range of quality assurance activities in support of the applications within your program, including manual and automated, functional front end and back end, regression, integration, smoke, Section 508 compliance, and others as needed. You are comfortable working side by side along with other testers, developers, analysts, designers, and customers, making decisions together to quickly deliver valuable working software that is free of defects and meets defined requirements. You have a passion for high-quality, reliable, and maintainable code that functions as designed and is easy to use. You are agile and retrospective, and not afraid to identify what we are doing wrong so we can fix it, and what we are doing right so we can improve upon it. Skills, Expertise, and Expectations: Experience creating and maintaining automated regression test scripts utilizing tools such as Cucumber, Jasmine, Selenium, Cypress.
Experience creating and maintaining performance and load testing utilizing tools such as JMeter, Artillery.io.
Experience performing both backend and frontend testing.
Experience with Java, Ruby, Python, Java Script, HTML, XML and scripting languages.
Ability to design and implement test approaches for new or existing applications, including producing high quality documentation.
Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner, and to provide recommendations for improvements to existing software applications.
Experience using Jira or similar ALMs for work tracking preferred.
Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a DHS Section 508 Trusted Tester certification within 6 months of onboarding to program.
2+ years' experience working in an agile development environment, preferably SAFe or Scrum.
Actively participate in and contribute to planning, refinement, estimation, design, retrospective, and technical demo meetings. Required Technical and Professional Expertise Years of Experience: 3+ years of relevant professional experience
Education: Bachelor's Degree in a related field
Location: Remote; must be available to work on Eastern time zone schedule Clearance: Residence within the U.S. for three (3) of the past five (5) years, and current residence within the U.S.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DHS EOD (Public Trust) - existing Public Trust desired Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
