ATSS has a client in Pascagoula that is currently looking for a Jr. Project Engineer.

Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities:





  • Excellent interpersonal and motivational skills, strong analytical skills, ability to work in a team environment, and strong computer literacy are desired.

  • Experience in both Commercial and Military Programs is a plus. Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products, Auto CAD, NavisWorks, ABS, DNV, USCG, and marine standard practices. Must have well-rounded/ diverse engineering experience, shipbuilding, and production processes. Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience preferred.

  • Level C: 3-5 years experience

  • Level D: Less than 3 years experience



Duties and Responsibilities:

A Project Engineer coordinates all functional and production design engineering activities for assigned project(s) by scheduling and providing technical direction for team members, monitoring design status and manning by design discipline, directing action where needed to meet the project plan, and ensuring all design shortfalls are corrected timely and/or reports same to the VP of Engineering, Chief Project Engineer and Program Manager.





  • For the assigned project(s), Project Engineer is the primary engineering interface within the department and between Engineering and other departments.

  • Works closely with all engineering discipline leads to identify scope, assign responsibilities, and ensuring schedule compliance and/or reporting same.

  • Responsible for maintaining project design records, i.e. Class/Owner submittals and correspondence files, Purchase Technical Specifications/technical re':iews and design status; tracks and ensures integration of all project specific vendor furnished information to support design development; ensuring the design is in compliance with the project specification, regulatory requirements and standard design practices. Resolves all class and owner design comments and maintains correspondence records.

  • Chairs weekly design meeting to review status and discuss pending issues and assigns actions for items not meeting plan.
