Salish Kootenai College seeks applicants for:Journey to Wellness Project Director Salary Range: $44,310-$46,656 DOEE For a complete position description contact:Human Resources, /4977 Closing Date: Monday, March 04, 2024; 4:00pm General Summary: The SKC Center for Prevention & Wellness (CPW) department is seeking a Project Director to lead the Journey to Wellness Project funded by the Headwaters Foundation. This project is focused on alternative response models committed to community-level Behavioral Health crisis intervention and prevention. Overseeing daily operation of the JTW project, including implementing grant goals and objectives to ensure deliverables are met. Exhibits positive leadership skills and behaviors and will lead efforts related to research, program implementation, partnership building, and strategic and collaborative thinking. Leads and manages staff through mentoring, coaching, and supervision ensuring staff engagement to meet organization and department goals and objectives. Gathering and completing all required reports and documentation for timely submission to the funder. Maintaining regular communication with project stakeholders, including the funder, SKC campus community, steering committee, and community partners. Collaborates with CPW to develop growth strategies and new project plans. Investigate and advise the CPW Program Director of funding opportunities. Travel-related to the departmental grants, as needed. Supervise JTW Program support staff. This position will be mindful of the Salish (Séliš), Kootenai (Ksanka), and Pend d'Oreille (QÍispé) peoples and other native peoples and organizations through programming. Manages multiple projects concurrently The Project Director supports the CPW department while maintaining a commitment to the mission, vision and core themes of SKC. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Psychology or other health-related field. Minimum of three (3) years' experience in public health, behavioral health, social work, psychology, or a related field. Experience creating and building relationships with Tribal agencies, community members, and other professional agencies. Excellent leadership skills with experience in a project management role in a team or organizational setting. Experience with grants management, their guidelines, and requirements as defined by funders. Cultural awareness, knowledge, and experience working with tribal populations. Travel is required, both local and regional travel, and as needed to grantee meetings, trainings/professional development opportunities, and resource building. Preferred Qualifications: Experience developing and sustaining positive relations with partners, funders, and evaluators. Ability to demonstrate respect and dignity, recognizing the uniqueness of clients, students, and colleagues. Efficient and effective resource utilization. Consistent and effective communication individually and within a team. Ability to provide accountability and timeliness of work outcomes. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including public speaking, presentations, and reporting.
