The Winooski School District is seeking a responsible person to assist PreK students within the classroom setting and while accessing bus transportation. The following duties and responsibilities are required as part of the job. Other duties may be assigned: Assist all PreK students while on the bus demonstrating the following skills: Providing safety & supervision of transported students Actively supervising students while on the bus Taking attendance Ensure that all students are accounted for at the end of bus route Utilize positive behavioral strategies to encourage positive behavior and address misbehavior. Implement behavioral intervention plans as developed by school staff. Collaborate and communicate with school staff to address student needs and behavior. Visit with children, and try to maintain an amiable atmosphere. Implement student specific plans determined to be needed by IEP teams or special educators. Report any relevant problems to the appropriate staff members, and follow-up as needed. Assist with food preparation within the PreK classrooms. Assist with cleaning duties within the PreK classrooms. Assist students with potty training activities and schedules. Assist and supervise students while at school in all settings including (but not limited to): classroom, recess, lunch, library, gym and other areas students may access. Other duties as assigned. The Winooski School District is a PreK through 12 system that is housed in one educational center. Employee must have the physical ability to perform the essential functions of the job Other additional duties may be assigned as needed. There are physical requirements for these positions. QUALIFICATIONS - High School diploma or equivalent, plus Minimum of 48 credit hours at an institution of higher education or Associate's degree (or higher) or can meet a standard of quality through a formal State or local academic assessment. Candidates with experience working with children (school or other settings) and/or coursework relating to the field will be a plus.
