Overview This position is accountable to work under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist and assist in the various activities of the pharmacy department in order to provide quality patient care for the following patient age categories: neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric, depending on the clinical setting. Pharmacy technicians will function in accordance with established procedures and guidelines; the supervising pharmacist must approve deviations from this. Talent Pool: Allied Health Responsibilities Performs all functions and processes of a LEVEL ONE technician. Independently and consistently performs Technician Level I functions. Anticipates customer/departmental needs and willingly communicates to appropriate personnel Coordinates, updates and implements practice related to established focus area. Independently and consistently coordinates practice within the scope of the focus area. Selects appropriate equipment and supplies. Maintains appropriate records and documentation tools. Completes goals in focus area yearly and communicates results to staff. Establishes and maintains workflow. Prioritizes, assesses workflow and evaluates processes for modification and improvement. Consistently approaches workload in a proactive fashion. Works with team to ensure consistent workflow despite interruptions. Seeks confirmation from supervisor. Consistently assesses workflow and ensures all job activities are completed in a timely and accurate manner. Provides leadership to enhance team environment. Advocates the importance of sharing information among team members throughout the day and during change of shifts. Assists in orientation of new staff and students. Willingly assists in orientation and training of new staff and students. Communicates and demonstrates procedures accurately. Conveys patience and understanding throughout the learning process. Seeks feedback and follow-up to ensure learning has occurred. Performs departmental record keeping, stocking, inventory control and replenishment." Collects and documents quality assurance data.Completes quality assurance data collection as assigned. Documentation is consistently accurate, complete, and submitted by deadline. Variances are reported promptly and appropriately. Qualifications EDUCATION:High School Diploma or equivalent, Required EXPERIENCE:All requirements for IV Admixture Technician II, plus five (5) years of Cone Health work experience including two years hospital pharmacy technician experience and full-time status. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIREDNational CPhT certification through PTCB required upon hire and must be maintained. Pharmacy Technicians must register with the NC Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire as aPharmacy Tech. Pharmacy students that are currently enrolled in a school of pharmacy are notrequired to register with the NC Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy TechnicianPREFERRED
