Duties You will develop information systems security requirements to safeguard system information. You will asses the capabilities and limitations of current hardware to optimize system reliability and maintainability. You will maintain network configuration control of systems or servers for optimal application of information technology (IT). You will brief senior leaders on information technology (IT) program policy documents You will implement information technology (IT) recovery actions to quickly restore data or equipment operations. You will write information assurance (IA) procedures for mitigating security vulnerabilities You will conduct risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed information systems to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and protection needs. You will manage accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment. You will manage the installation and integration of systems fixes, updates and enhancements. You will be subject to and must be able to satisfy the overseas requirements of the 26Jul12 DODI 1400.25 V1230: This position may require travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States which could include remote or isolated sites. You may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. If eligible for permanent change of station, the appointee will be required to sign a transportation agreement to establish a Government time in service requirement of 12 months. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport. May be required to obtain a VISA dependent on the overseas country's laws/regulations. You will be required to sign the Statement of Understanding for Overseas Employment acknowledging receipt and understanding of the statement of living and working conditions for this location. Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326. Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service. This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management. You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final TOP SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing. This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Reviewing IT and control systems programs to assess overall compliance with cybersecurity plans, policies, and alignment with business and mission requirements; 2) Maintaining an organization's cybersecurity program that includes cybersecurity architecture, requirements, objectives, policies, cybersecurity personnel, and cybersecurity processes and procedures; 3) Providing assistance in drafting, modifying, and maintaining an organization's core cybersecurity policies; and 4) Tracking and performing cybersecurity related tasks associated with assessment and authorization activities for IT and control systems in accordance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process. Incumbent must have skill in the operation of a wide range of computer hardware, COTS, and applications software, particularly PC and LAN-based systems and ability to install/troubleshoot hardware and software components. Cyberspace Workforce Qualification: This position is a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position in specialty area Information System Security Management (Code 461), Systems Security Analyst and IT Level I access. As a condition of employment incumbents of this position are required to comply with the DON Cyber IT/CSWF Program requirements of SECNAV M-5239.2, which include: Earn and maintain appropriate credentials from the Cyber IT/CSWF Qualification Matrix (described in SECNAV M-5239.2) associated with the specialty area and level commensurate with the scope of major assigned duties for the position to which you are assigned, and; Participate in a continuous learning program as described in SECNAVINST 1543.2. A minimum of 40 hours of Cyber IT/CSWF related continuous learning annually documented in a current individual development plan signed by both the employee and supervisor. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Work is primarily sedentary and performed in a typical office setting. The incumbent will be required to carry and/or transport equipment or books weighing up to 20 pounds and to stoop and/or climb to perform site surveys and arrange IT equipment. WORK ENVIRONMENT The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions. The incumbent's work may require moderate risks or discomforts associated with visiting military installations, sites with limited access, remote areas, and/or construction sites which may require use of protective gear.
