Duties The position(s) covered by this vacancy announcement is in the Department of Defense (DoD) Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project (AcqDemo). For more information please see: ACQDEMO As a IT Specialist (Data Management) at the NH-2210-3 broadband level some of your typical work assignments may include: Provides guidance to deploying and maintaining applications and technologies, including developing concepts of operations, and strategies for training, deployment, operations, and maintenance strategies. Provides customer outreach to internal organizations to ensure effective deployments, and collects and analyzes metrics to ensure efficiencies of the deployments. Ensures help desk operations and user training requirements are adequately addressed before deployments. Keeps abreast of technological developments in information management within MDA, OSD, DoD, other federal agencies, and the private sector, plus provides recommendations to immediate supervisor regarding the implementation and proliferation of IT to include hardware and software platforms. Advises immediate peers and supervisor on all activities related to IT data, knowledge, collaboration technologies, and information management concepts, requirements, and related issues. Conducts studies and requirements analyses to ensure that Agency IT needs are being effectively addressed and analyzes and plans for anticipated changes in requirements. Develops budget plans and budget estimates needed to acquire MDA IT equipment, associated peripherals, and related hardware and software. Provides oversight to support contractors and technology vendors. Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA): Exempt Financial Disclosure: Required Telework Eligibility: This position is situational telework eligible Selective Service Requirement: Please visit for more information Must obtain/maintain Non-critical Sensitive/Secret security clearance Qualifications You may qualify at the NH-03 broadband level if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-02/GS-11 grade level in the Federal service: Support the planning, attainment, sustainment, operations, modernization of the IT/Data Management Infrastructure to promote rapid and secure archival and distribution of data. Experience in oral and written communications, develop and present briefings, and develop technical reports to work in a multi-disciplinary science and engineering team, and advise senior management on policies and procedures. Apply critical thinking skills to coordinate and strategically schedule new and/or existing data management requirements for test events. Support Missile Defense System tests or missions with data and/or information management. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
