Title: IT Project Manager

Duration: 12 months

Location: Philadelphia, PA

Note: This is a hybrid position and onsite interview only.

Job Description:
  • Partners with Information Services functional groups to communicate and clarify business needs, contribute to development of long-range system plans, and ensure products and services are aligned with business needs.
  • Provides proactive analysis and recommendations that will assist in streamlining operations, increasing efficiency, improving productivity and reducing costs.
  • Provides project management leadership to initiatives and process reviews; leads best practice analysis, recommendations, implementation and measurement, project status and metrics reporting functions.
  • Builds an intimate knowledge of assigned customers activities in order to proactively identify opportunities to apply new and/or improved technologies to business processes.
  • Assists assigned customers and project teams with issues such as priority-setting, facilitation and contract brokerage to overcome obstacles, meet budgetary expectations and achieve specific project related goals.
  • Coordinates research and development activities maintaining solid business relationships with other companies and industry organizations associated with research and development.
  • This includes but is not limited to:
  • Making recommendations regarding operating methods based on best practice feedback from industry associations and other research data analysis.
  • Providing information on technical trends and competitors practices relevant to the assigned business client.
  • Identifying enabling technologies based on customer requirements.
  • Seeking ways to apply technology to business processes.
  • Assists in implementing, monitoring and measuring change impacts; develops metrics reports for determining successes/failures.
  • Plan, organize, monitor and control projects for the completion of procedural, infrastructure and/or software development to meet project specifications.
  • Identify and utilize appropriate skill levels to staff project teams, while providing development opportunities and mentoring for team members, as appropriate.
  • Understand and apply the Project Management Institute (PMI) Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).
Required Skills:
  • Three to Five years experience in project management
  • Experience managing projects with vendor activities
  • Demonstrated success as a project manager
  • Through understanding of Microsoft Project Professional, Project Web Access and Project Server, as well as, baseline management and change control.
  • PMI membership and/or PMI certification, a plus.
  • Working knowledge of PMBOK principles.
